Bretto Jackson
Leaders Become Legends Co-Director
Mike “Bretto” Jackson is a father, activist, musician and recording artist who has substantial experience in mentoring and workforce development. For eight years, he served as the Self Enhancement Inc. studio/music composition coordinator where he mentored youth through “Black” music history and production. Bretto started the Role-models Applying Positive Peer Pressure music-mentoring program at Rosewood Initiative with David Jakson (aka Portland Trailblazers DJ, OG One), and is currently the Rosewood “Black” Community Organizer. He also works for POIC in the Community Healing Initiative/Elevate program. There, he mentors so-called “African American” gang-impacted young adults and formerly incarcerated people through culture, wellness, career-oriented employment, crisis response, and knowledge of self. At the same time, he is the co-director of a non profit organization called Leaders Become Legends to provide mentoring through employment to help create leaders in the community, starting in the clean energy workforce.
