Since 2013, Jonna Papaefthimiou [John—uh Papa – eff—thee—ME—you] is the Planning, Policy, and Community Programs Manager at the Portland Bureau of Emergency Management. She’s responsible for the City’s emergency response and recovery planning, and also supervises the City’s community outreach and volunteer programs. She previously worked as a political policy advisor, land-use planner, and community organizer. She holds a bachelor’s in writing and a master’s in City planning from MIT. Jonna lives in Sellwood with her husband, two daughters, and a chihuahua.
